Both newcomers and veteran hikers and cyclists are welcome to join our wallet-friendly trip, only 70 km from the capital Nairobi. You can go there by motorbike, car or bicycle (please note that the return journey involves a steep climb up to Ngong hills). The campsite is next to the National Museums of Kenya Olorgesaille site, where Dr and Mrs Leakey discovered an early prehistoric ‘Hand axe factory’. If you are not into archaeology, outdoor options include a short hike to baboon cliff, a longer one to Mt. Olorgesaille and mountain biking. In the evening we are planning a potluck dinner. Olorgesaille is much lower than in Nairobi, and during the cold season, the weather is pleasant. Masai provide firewood at a cost in the evening. There are long drop toilets, water in tanks, but no electricity and drinking water, so come prepared.
Camping cost: citizen: ksh300, residents: ksh400 and Non-resident: ksh600. There are bandas (bungalows) also from ksh1,200 up to ksh2,000 available.
