Beginners climbing and rope skills training weekend planned for the 29/30 Sept at Lukenya.

Sat 29th Sept
Basic rope rescue skills
– Tying off and escaping a belay
– Prussiking up a rope
– Setting up a basic pulley system
The main idea for this is to experiment different systems and share skills/knowledge.
We can also run scenarios if time/participants/guinea pigs permit

Camping and party/BBQ at the top campsite

Sun 30th Sept
Setting up 4-6 top ropes for beginners and teaching them basics of climbing (wearing a harness, tying in, belaying etc). This will start from 9 or 10am – to be confirmed later.

Any climbers with some skills on rope rescue are needed. – Please sign up on the sheet

For Sunday – any climbers who can setup top ropes are very welcome. If you are a climber who can belay this is a great chance to learn setting up anchors. Also helpers will be rewarded with a trad teaching climbing weekend later in Oct.

All members/guests are welcome to camp out on Saturday night. Lukenya is great for cycling, trail running, walking and horse riding.
