We will depart Nairobi from Sarit centre (for those who want to car pool) at 10am. The trip to Namanga border will take about 4 ½ to 5hours, going via Kiserian, then old Pipe line road (just south of Ngong Hills). Just after the border we will be met by Ally, our Tanzanian guide who will take us to the gate of Longido Camp (about 300meters from the border). We pitch camp for the night (there are rooms and restaurant facilities) and for those that want to camp, please make sure you bring your own tents, food, etc.

Sunday morning we break camp and start the hike to the summit at 9am. The hike according to the guide takes 8-9hours.

What to bring:

  • Tent, sleeping bag, etc.

  • Self catering

  • Hiking water

  • Day pack – to carry water, snacks for the hike, etc

  • Sun screen & Hat

  • Camera

  • PASSPORT!!! 

What is available:

  • Water, showers, accommodation

Charges:

  • Ksh. 3,300 per person for mandatory park fees, guide and Askari

  • Ksh. 1,000 per person District Council fees

  • Double room – Ksh. 300 per double

  • Meals – Breakfast Ksh. 150 per person, Lunch & Dinner Ksh. 300 per person

  • Extra cash for car pooling

  • VISA CHARGES (US$ 25/-)
