Silali Volcano is located in the northern Kenyan rift valley near Kapedo, about 70 km North of Lake Baringo. It lies South of the Suguta valley, the part of the Rift Valley which stretches North up to Lake Turkana. Silali contains a spectacular 8 x 5 km diameter summit caldera whose walls are up to 300 m high. The highest point is 5,000 feet and the summit rises 800m above the surrounding terrain.
The trip will take three days: one day to get there, one day to hike, and one day to return to Nairobi. Our goal is to reach the edge of the crater inside. More info
